New Homes in the Indianapolis Metro — Built for the Way Central Indiana Lives

The Indianapolis Metro is Arbor Homes’ home market. We’ve been building new homes here since 1994 — longer than anywhere else — and over more than three decades, we’ve seen Central Indiana grow into one of the Midwest’s most sought-after areas for new construction. That experience has given us a deep understanding of the communities, neighborhoods and corridors that make up the Indianapolis Metro, from established suburbs close to downtown to rapidly growing areas farther outside the city.

South of Indianapolis, Johnson County continues to attract homebuyers looking for a combination of new homes, highly rated schools and convenient access to the city. Center Grove and Clark-Pleasant are popular school districts, while the I-65 corridor makes commuting to Indianapolis convenient. Communities in Greenwood and Whiteland, as well as the growing Trafalgar and Edinburgh areas, offer homebuyers additional opportunities to find more space and features while staying within reach of the city.

Heading north, Hamilton County is home to some of the Indianapolis Metro’s most established and fastest-growing communities. Westfield and Noblesville, along with areas surrounding US-31 and SR-32, offer new construction, established amenities and convenient access to major employers throughout the northern corridor. HSE, Westfield and Noblesville school districts are also an important part of what draws families and relocating professionals to the area.

On the east side of Indianapolis, Hancock County offers another option for buyers looking for a new home with easy access to the city. McCordsville and surrounding communities provide access to I-70 and I-69, as well as Mt. Vernon and South Hancock school districts. With continued residential growth throughout the area, buyers can find opportunities for new construction and more space while remaining connected to Indianapolis and the surrounding communities.

Northwest of Indianapolis, Whitestown in Boone County has become one of Central Indiana’s notable growth communities. Located along I-65, Whitestown offers convenient access to northwest Indianapolis, the I-65 corridor and the technology and logistics employers throughout the area. New community development continues to shape the area, with access to Lebanon Community and Western Boone school districts adding to its appeal for homebuyers looking for a growing place to call home.

For those who want to stay closer to the city, Lawrence Township in northeast Indianapolis offers a different kind of convenience. As an established Marion County community, Lawrence Township already has the grocery stores, shopping, parks, services and infrastructure that come with decades of development. MSD Lawrence Township serves local families, while I-465, I-69 and I-70 provide connections to downtown Indianapolis, Castleton, Keystone at the Crossing and major employers throughout the northeast side.

Further south, Bartholomew County and Columbus, Indiana offer a small-city alternative within the broader Central Indiana region. Located about 40 miles south of Indianapolis along I-65, Columbus is known for its distinctive architecture, strong local economy and access to Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. With major employers like Cummins and a community-focused atmosphere, Columbus appeals to buyers looking for the benefits of Central Indiana without living directly in the Indianapolis Metro.

Wherever you choose to live, Central Indiana offers a variety of communities, lifestyles and new home options from Arbor Homes. From established Indianapolis-area neighborhoods to growing communities in Johnson, Hamilton, Hancock, Boone, Marion and Bartholomew counties, Arbor Homes builds in locations that give homebuyers access to the amenities, schools, employers and everyday conveniences that matter most.
