In 1994, Curtis Rector founded Arbor Homes with a straightforward belief: homeownership should be within reach for more families.
More than 30 years and 25,000 homes later, that belief still guides everything we do.
Today, Arbor Homes builds new construction homes across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, helping families find a home that fits their life, their goals, and their budget. From first-time buyers ready to stop renting to growing families looking for more space and homeowners ready for a simpler way to live, we believe there's a place for you at Arbor.
We've grown from a local home builder into one of the Midwest's most established new home builders, but our approach remains rooted in the communities we know best. We build where Midwest families want to live, whether that’s in growing suburbs, welcoming communities, or small towns with convenient access to the cities, schools, jobs, and amenities that matter.
Our goal is simple: make homeownership more attainable and the journey to getting there easier.
A Company Built to Grow With Its Buyers
Over the years, Arbor Homes has grown alongside the families we serve.
In 2004, we launched Silverthorne Homes as a move-up brand for buyers ready for larger homes, elevated finishes, and more ways to personalize their space. It was a natural next step for a company that had already helped so many families purchase their first home.
In 2018, Arbor joined Clayton Properties Group, one of the nation's largest homebuilding organizations. The partnership brought additional resources and expertise while allowing Arbor to maintain the local market knowledge and community-focused approach that have always been central to our business.
As Arbor continued to grow, so did our Midwest footprint. We expanded into Louisville and Southern Indiana through the acquisition of Elite Homes, followed by Columbus in 2021 and the Cincinnati/Dayton corridor. Today, we build new homes across four major Midwest markets, with a growing collection of communities and home designs created around the people who live there.
