Built on a Belief. Proven Over 30 Years.
In 1994, Curtis Rector founded Arbor Homes with a straightforward mission: put families in new homes they're proud to own, at prices that make homeownership actually achievable. More than 30 years and 25,000 homes later, that mission hasn't changed — it's just expanded across more markets, more communities, and more families who walked in thinking a new home was out of reach.
Arbor builds new construction homes across four Midwest markets — Indianapolis Metro, Columbus Ohio, Cincinnati/Dayton, and Louisville/Southern Indiana — with communities ranging from attainable entry-level homes to move-up designs for growing families.
A Company Built to Grow With Its Buyers
In 2004, Arbor launched Silverthorne Homes as a move-up brand for buyers ready for elevated finishes and higher-end features — recognizing that many of the families Arbor had put in their first home were ready for their second. In 2018, Arbor joined Clayton Properties Group, one of the nation's largest home building organizations, deepening the resources behind every home we build while keeping the local market focus that has always defined us.
Expansion into Louisville and Southern Indiana followed through the acquisition of Elite Homes, bringing Arbor's approach to a market where buyers on both sides of the Ohio River were underserved by attainable new construction. Ohio came next — Columbus in 2021, followed by the Cincinnati/Dayton corridor — extending Arbor's reach across the Midwest's fastest-growing metros.

The Arrival Series starts under $200k — new construction for buyers who are ready to stop renting and start building equity. The Arbor Series covers the full range of Midwest family living, from starter homes to growing households, from the low $200s. The Silverthorne Series is our move-up brand — larger homes, higher-end finishes, from the high $300s. And Destination by Arbor offers single-level ranch living from the low $300s — for buyers who want the simplicity of one floor done right, with the peace of mind of new construction.
